Last week marked an exciting milestone for Browne as we proudly launched our latest Apprenticeship Programme, welcoming a diverse group of apprentices into the IT, SHEQ, Procurement, Environment & Sustainability, and Commercial disciplines. Over the next 3-6 years, these future stars will be working, learning, and earning with us as they build their careers in the construction and utilities sectors.
For many of the new apprentices, this marks the beginning of their journey with Browne, while others, already familiar with the company, are transitioning into the programme to further enhance their skills and career paths. This blend of new talent and internal growth is key to fostering innovation and continuity within the company.
A Dynamic Three-Day Induction
The three-day induction was a comprehensive introduction to Browne’s operations and the broader Apprenticeship Programme. Here’s a snapshot of what the apprentices experienced during their induction week:
Day 1: Welcome and Introductions
The first day kicked off with introductions to Browne’s Directors and Senior Management Team, providing apprentices with a valuable insight into the leadership driving Browne’s success. They also learned the details of the Apprenticeship Programme, confirmed their university or college start dates, and got an overview of what to expect from their academic journey. Apprentices reported having a great time, enjoying the positive atmosphere and the chance to meet key figures within the company.
Day 2: Mentorship and STEM Engagement
On the second day, apprentices met their mentors, who will support and guide them throughout the program. In line with Browne’s commitment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), apprentices signed up as STEM Ambassadors, a role that encourages them to inspire future generations in engineering and technology. Additionally, they created their “This is Me” profiles for STEM, showcasing their personal stories and aligning with Browne’s dedication to innovation and the future of the industry.
