Southern Water Reservoirs: A Growing Partnership and Continued Excellence

Browne’s partnership with Southern Water (SW) has flourished since the company became the reservoir maintenance framework provider in 2019. Recognising Browne’s excellent performance, Southern Water awarded a four-year extension to the contract in 2023, cementing this relationship through to 2027.

In the past year alone, Browne has been particularly busy within the SW workstream, completing significant projects across the Southeast of England. Major works included installing new roof membranes at five sites and carrying out remedial work at over 15 additional sites. Currently, ongoing roof membrane installations are taking place at three further sites, keeping the team fully booked until the end of the current Asset Management Period (AMP).

Browne’s achievements also include the upgrade of sampling facilities across 41 sites, with the installation of 54 new walk-in sample kiosks, demonstrating the company's commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring operational excellence for Southern Water’s network.

With autumn and winter historically being the busiest seasons for reservoir maintenance, Browne is prepared for a high-demand period leading into 2025. We have recently expanded this team by adding two graduate civil engineers and an apprentice groundworker. Browne is continually looking to the future, giving opportunities to the next generation of civil engineers.
