Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, issue and record materials, equipment, spares, tools, PPE and consumables within the depot.
  • Handle, receive and store all materials and equipment in compliance with the requirements set out in datasheets, specifications or as dictated by legislation (Health and Safety).
  • Monitor stock against project requirements and order as required, maintaining an ongoing accurate inventory.
  • Participate in stock counts/checks and reconcile against inventory.
  • Raising purchase orders & goods receipting on procurement system.
  • Co-ordinate toolbox talks, RAMS briefings and daily POWRA’s.
  • Provide counter service for personnel calling in at stores to collect items, issue materials/stock for production as required.
  • Produce various reports as requested (monthly stock take, damage reports, contra-charge supply partners).
  • Report damage on incoming materials or returned equipment – provide detail on damages to allow contra-charges to be implemented. Quarantine area to avoid re-distribution onto site.
  • Contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of the contract (pre-allocating materials to allow ease of collection by teams reducing downtime. Coordinating loads to avoid cross-over and maximise vehicle utilization (not taking out a HGV for multiple loads when a single would have sufficed).
  • Ensure the depot - stores, yard, welfare and toilets - are organized, neat and tidy.
  • Apply company rules, respect and apply safety rules.
  • Act as a role model at all times in support of the company’s vision, priorities and values.

Candidate Specification

Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience of managing a depot/yard/store is essential.
  • Maintain a safe and serviceable working environment.
  • Importance of maintaining health and safety processes and procedures when loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Able to identify reduced stock levels/high frequency use and allow reorder in line with supplier timescales to eliminate and loss of site based production.
  • High level of proven attendance in roles.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full driving license.
  • License to allow towing of trailers and plant.
  • Telehandler operator
  • Able to utilise basic I.T programmes (excel, word and outlook) to allow reordering of stock via procurement team and suppliers. Ability to complete stock take inventory.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Water Hygiene
  • 1st AID
  • Formalised Health and Safety Training (IOSH)
  • NPORS Traffic Marshall or Banksmen
