In a further major collaboration, Browne, together with SGN, is actively working to reduce disruption during the replacement of a 200m DI pipe with a 250mm PE pipe in the London Borough of Bexley. Thanks to the evolving scope of the project and combined efforts with Thames Water, over 70 days of disruption are expected to be saved.
This month new bespoke signage, developed and approved by the Greater London Authority (GLA), arrived and was mounted on-site. The signage will keep residents informed about the project and highlight the importance of collaboration in minimising disruptions.
Reducing Disruption and Keeping the Community Informed
The initial target of saving 70 days of disruption is expected to increase as both Thames Water and SGN refine their scopes of work. The mounted signage clearly communicates project details to the public, ensuring transparency and providing reassurance to local residents. The London Borough of Bexley has been highly supportive of this initiative, helping to make the collaboration a reality.
The collaborations led by Browne and Thames Water in partnership with the GLA, TFL, the London Boroughs and other utilities, have reduced disruption by over 500 days in AMP 7 to date, for customers and residents.
A spokesperson from the London Borough of Bexley commented:
With stakeholders on-site to celebrate the unveiling of the signage, the project is now moving forward with greater visibility and cooperation, benefiting both residents and essential infrastructure improvements.
