Technical Specification
- Proven experience of delivering training sessions within the construction, utilities or related industries.
- Hands-on experience using abrasive wheels and manual handling techniques, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Experience in assessing learners’ competency and ensuring training meets regulatory and industry standards
- Experience in conducting internal quality assurance of training and assessments to meet awarding body requirements.
- Familiarity with working alongside awarding bodies, maintaining compliance and preparing for audits
- Experience in developing and improving training materials to align with industry best practices
- Proficient in using IT systems to manage training records, assessment documentation and IQA reports.
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised training qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PTLLS, or equivalent).
- Would also accept someone with experience of on-site work (previous Ganger, Supervisor etc) that would be willing to complete the above training.
Desirable Qualifications
- IQA qualification (e.g., Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice).
- Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, CAVA, or equivalent).
- First Aid Instructor Qualification.
- National Water Hygiene Trainer accreditation.
- Face Fit Testing Trainer accreditation.
Role Purpose
The Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions to employees and subcontractors across various mandatory and specialist courses. This includes Company & Client Inductions, Abrasive Wheel, Asbestos Awareness, Emergency First Aid, National Water Hygiene, Manual Handling, Face Fit Testing, and Mental Health Awareness. They will also take part in Internal quality assurance of training and assessment processes. The role ensures compliance with industry standards and enhances workforce skills, knowledge, and safety awareness.
Role Summary
Training Delivery:
- Deliver engaging and effective training sessions in line with Browne Construction and client requirements.
- Conduct Company & Client Inductions for new employees and subcontractors.
- Deliver accredited and in-house training courses, including: Abrasive Wheel; Asbestos Awareness; Emergency First Aid at Work; National Water Hygiene; Manual Handling; Face Fit Testing and Mental Health Awareness.
- Assess training needs and adapt course content to meet participant requirements.
- Conduct practical assessments to evaluate competency in skills such as abrasive wheel use and manual handling.
- Provide support and guidance to learners to enhance their skills and confidence.
Internal Quality Assurance (IQA):
- Support internal quality assurance processes as part of a shared responsibility with the training delivery team.
- Assist in ensuring that training and assessment processes meet awarding body and industry standards.
- Provide feedback on assessment practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of training quality.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with audit and verification requirements.
General Duties:
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records and issue certificates upon successful course completion.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during training delivery.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of training materials and resources.
- Ensure training facilities and equipment are maintained and ready for use.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, best practices, and developments in training and assessment.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post
