TFL Director’s Site Walk-Through at Surbiton Trunk Mains Replacement Project

Browne recently hosted a site walk-through for Transport for London (TFL) along Upper Tooting Road to see the Surbiton Trunk Mains Replacement Project. The visit provided an opportunity for the TFL Director and team to witness the progress of this essential infrastructure project, which is being delivered on behalf of Thames Water in cooperation with TFL and Wandsworth Council.

The tour was led by Steve Edwards, Contract Manager, who provided a comprehensive overview of the ongoing works and the technical processes involved. Browne's directors and engineers explained the project's current status, the safety measures implemented, and the engineering solutions designed to minimise disruption to the local community and to traffic flow.

It’s really impressive to see the work being done on such a busy street, with so many residents and small businesses to consider. Ultimately, the work is saving customers millions in costs, and making an immeasurable long-term difference to the people in the local area. It’s great to see such important work being done in an efficient manner. Browne have demonstrated the advanced technology they’re using to carry out the work and I’m really impressed and happy with the progress of this project.
— Carl Eddleston, Director of Network Management and Resilence , TFL

During the visit, TFL's representatives expressed their satisfaction with the project progress and adherence to timelines. This site visit demonstrated the strong partnership between Thames Water, Browne and TFL, ensuring the successful execution of the project for Londoners' benefit.

The ongoing trunk mains replacement works is part of a critical Thames Water programme aimed at upgrading the water infrastructure in this busy area of Greater London, and Browne continues to work diligently to meet the needs of both the local population and its stakeholders.
