Browne to Replace 722m of 12" Water Mains on Offord Road, London for Thames Water

In an exciting development for the Offord Road community, Browne is preparing to replace 722m of 12-inch cast iron water mains as part of a significant infrastructure project for Thames Water. The replacement of these outdated mains is a critical step towards improving water supply reliability and preventing future pipe bursts and floods, which have previously caused disruptions for local residents and businesses. To engage with the community and provide detailed information about the project, Thames Water and Browne hosted a successful drop-in session on Offord Road.

This event offered a platform for local residents and business owners to meet the project team and ask questions about the upcoming works. The session, held in cooperation with Islington Council, was divided into two parts: a four-hour daytime session directly on Offord Road and an evening session at the local library. The event was well-received, with many attendees expressing relief and satisfaction upon learning about the planned improvements.

Residents and business owners, who have endured the inconvenience of pipe bursts and flooding, were particularly pleased to hear that comprehensive measures are being taken to prevent such issues in the future. This drop-in session marked the culmination of 18 months of meticulous planning and preparation by Browne. The project team is now ready and eager to begin the delivery phase, bringing much-needed upgrades to the local water infrastructure.

With the strong support of the community and the collaborative efforts of Islington Council, Browne, and Thames Water, the replacement project on Offord Road is set to enhance the quality of life for residents and provide a more reliable water supply for years to come.
