Process Design Engineer for Enisca Browne

Reporting to: Senior Process Design Engineer

Liaising with: Design Team and Delivery Team

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Location: Hybrid. Location either Balcombe / Cookstown / Ilkeston

Role Purpose:

As part of the Design Team, the Process Engineer will support the planning and delivery of the process design of water and wastewater treatment projects for various clients..

They will work on technical projects, contributing to the development and implementation of treatment solutions. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective process performance and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements delivering innovative and sustainable water treatment solutions

Role Summary:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment processes.

  • Develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, and process unit sizing to optimise treatment plant performance.

  • Develop P&IDs, process control philosophies, hydraulics calculations (gravity & pumped) to feed into design specifications and HAZOP studies.

  • Represent the design team in HAZOP studies and design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare technical documentation, including process descriptions, reports, and manuals.

  • Support project teams in delivering solutions that meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to execute project tasks and meet client requirements.

  • Provide operational support by troubleshooting process issues and recommending improvements.

  • Assist in the optimisation of the process design to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain compliance.

  • Stay updated on new developments and technologies within the water industry.

Technical Specification

Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the water or wastewater sector..

  • Experience working with water treatment plants or similar infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of water quality standards and environmental regulations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • Good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to water treatment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical/Process Enigneering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies in water treatment.

  • Member of professional body and working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
