J Browne recently assisted our client Southern Water in hosting an industry wide Reservoir Maintenance Forum on 19th September in Gatwick. Representatives from Southern Water, Thames Water, South East Water, Affinity Water, Portsmouth Water and Sutton & East Surrey attended and shared learning and experiences from maintaining safe and secure potable water supply in the South East of England. We were delighted to support the forum.
The day was led by Oliver Ryan Southern Water’s Senior Reservoir Project Manager. Our Operations Director, Barry Jones delivered a presentation on the use of BIM and the digital twinning of reservoir sites. There were a number of other excellent contributions in the area of live cell working, Southern Water’s journey on reservoir maintenance, and a session on the latest sampling technology to name but a few.
The feedback from the day suggested that it was an excellent learning experience for all of the reservoir related water companies and contractor staff that attended. It provided a good insight into the challenges of AMP7 particularly in relation to the key outcomes of delivering excellent water quality and continuity of supply.
