In recognition of Black History Month, Browne is excited to announce a special webinar titled "Reclaiming Narratives in Engineering," aimed at providing crucial career advice and opportunities to the next generation of Black engineering talent. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 30th October 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and will feature guidance on apprenticeships, graduate programs, and CV support for Black engineering students, graduates, and soon-to-be graduates.
The engineering sector has long been a field in need of diverse perspectives, and Browne is committed to creating opportunities and supporting access to the industry for underrepresented groups. By empowering aspiring Black engineers with the knowledge and tools to succeed, Browne hopes to help shape a more inclusive future for the profession.
Webinar Speakers
The event will feature four engaging speakers, each bringing unique insights from their experiences in the engineering sector:
- Sophia Bruce, Learning & Development Advisor at Browne, will not only host the session but also offer guidance on when and how to search for apprenticeship and graduate programs. Additionally, she will provide practical advice on preparing standout CVs that can help students secure these sought-after positions.
- Esther Isiguzo, Senior Project Manager at Browne, will share her journey in the engineering world and discuss the importance of strong leadership and project management skills in today’s industry.
- Zakaria Ali, Graduate Civil Engineer at Browne, will offer his perspective on entering the engineering field through an apprenticeship, sharing insights into what the role entails and how to make the most of the opportunities.
Each speaker will have a 10–15 minute slot, followed by a Q&A session to ensure participants can gain personalized advice and ask questions directly relevant to their career paths.
